Hi! My name is Beatrice Beauregard. You can call me B.B. Today we are going to go on a very special trip. We are going to meet some important people and see some great places. Come on!

This is the Fire Station and this is Firefighter Freddie. Firefighters, like Freddie, put out fires in our community. If something is on fire, you can count on the firefighters to be there. You can also call on them if someone needs help. The next place we are going to visit has cars with loud sirens. Can you guess where we are going next?

Did you guess we were coming to the Police Station? I am here with Officer Oscar. Policemen protect our community. If you are ever in trouble, you should call the police and they will help you. They are here to keep us safe. Now we are going to a place you would go if you were hurt. Can you guess where we are going next?

Did you guess we were coming to the hospital? This is Doctor Derek. You should come to the hospital if you are sick or hurt. Doctors, like Derek, work here and will make you feel better. The next place we are going to visit has lots of food and carts. Can you guess where we are going next?

Did you guess we were coming to the grocery store? I bet you have been here before. This is grocer Greg. He helps us find things around the store and puts all the food out for us to buy. You would come here with an adult to buy food and things for your house. The next place we are going to visit is where our community leaders work. Can you guess we are going next?

Did you guess we were coming to city hall? This is where all the leaders of our community work. This is Mayor Marty. Mayor Marty is the leader of our city. He helps make laws that protect our community. The next place we are going to visit has lots of books. Can you guess where we are going next?

Did you guess we were coming to the library? This is the Librarian, Lillian. She helps us find the books we need. Here we can check out books and take them home to read. Wow, there sure are a lot of books here! The last place we will visit is a place where you would spend most of your time. Can you guess where we are going next?

Did you guess we were coming back to my house? Even our homes and families are parts of the community. My mom and sister, C.C., are busy planting flowers to make our community more beautiful. We can do a lot in our community. We can help our moms and dads with chores. We can help our community and its members. We can pick up garbage or help our teachers at school.

It’s time for dinner and I have to help my mom. Now you can go out and find the people and places we saw today in your own community! Bye for now!
