The Lifecycle of a Destination Destinations have a lifecycle… -Introduction OOnce tourists find out about a new destination, news spreads fairly quickly and at this stage, the destination is at its peak in its popularity. -Growth AAs this destination continues at its peak more and more tourist dollars enter that area and better facilities are built to continue to attract new tourists and businesses. -Maturation TThe business becomes stronger and more steady, but at this point it is no longer growing. More ventures have moved onto new destinations while dependable become more frequent visitors. -Decline UUnless the destination can start appealing to a new accidence for has some type of revival, it will start to decline.

Phase of Cruise Line Vacationing The Cruise line vacationing business is a growing industry and because of this it is in the maturation process of a destinations lifecycle.

Economic Impact  The Cruise line vacationing industry has provided port states with a lot of annual revenue.  This accumulated revenue then goes to support the infrastructure of that local economy as well as the maintenance cost of  that area be such an important destination due to its ports.

Environmental Impact Cruise Ship vacationing is a great way to travel and enjoy a vacation as it provided tourists with a comforted trip while stopping at beautiful destinations. However, this does have an effect on the environment. Cruise Ships generate  21,000 gallons of sewage  One ton of garbage  170,000 gallons of was from sinks, showers and laundry  More than 25 pounds of batteries, fluorescent lights, medical waste, and expired chemicals  Up to 6,400 gallons of oily bilge water from engines  On average about 8,500 water bottles that don’t get recycled

Cruise Line Vacationing  In conclusion, cruise line vacations are a very fun way to travel however, this type of tourism does have its effect on the economy and the environments in the surrounding areas. END
