MM/DD/YYYY Proposed AIAA Bylaw Changes TAC recommends changes to Paragraph 5.5 of the AIAA Bylaws based on current processes and rules addressing:  Length of Technical Committee Chair service – Increase expectation of term limits – Change approval for exceptions and governance to TAC Director (from VP TAC)  Committee membership length and approval – Simplify wording; change approval to TAC Director from VP TAC  Maximum number of committee members and approvals – Update Bylaws to reflect current TAC rules (limit 50)  Deviations must be approved by cognizant Director TAC will adjust Charter and Chair handbook/training to correspond to bylaw changes 2

MM/DD/YYYY Final Draft of Bylaw Change Proposal 5.5 …The Chairperson of each Technical Committee shall serve up to two years. Members of Technical Committees shall serve one year terms with an expectation of three consecutive years of service. The membership of any Technical Committee shall be limited to a maximum of 35 regular members and a total of 50 including associate, international, and alumni members. Any deviations from these rules require approval by the cognizant Technical Activities Group Director.
