Puppet Man comes to visit

How to make a puppet Tip: Wash out your milk bottle before you start! Equipment: Tools Scissors PVA glue and an apron Empty 500ml milk bottle Two strong ½ metre sticks and newspaper Masking tape One tub, an old paint brush and a pencil Materials Card white/coloured Coconut fibre, mop ends, string, netting and ribbon for hair Gold card if you want a crown Tissue paper (multi coloured) Pipe cleaners

Introduction: We have been learning about Ancient Greek myths so we made mythical creatures for our puppets. For example I made a satyr. Method: A)First, tape your 2 strong sticks together with your masking tape. Do not use too much! Then carefully punch 2 holes at the top of your bottle BUT make sure the 2 sticks fit through top to bottom. B)Next, shape your puppet, add a chin and a nose. Make everything big and cut some off the end if you need to but fill in the gap afterwards. A picture of the milk bottle before I started.

C)Make a cone shape with your white card, If its too big cut some off the edge then fill it in with masking tape. D)Now, to make the nose get a 19cm piece of white card and fold it long ways then, cut a triangle and stick the top (with masking tape) in line with the handle on the milk bottle. Make sure you put your chin on first! E)Next, when you think you’ve perfected them (you take it off then put in back on again if you think it’s not right) cover your puppet with coloured tissue paper (if you want to add more features you can, horns or anything like that). F)After, your tissue paper is on with the PVA glue and coated over with a layer of glue, cut out some card and make your eyes any shape you want. G)Now, add some hair, eyebrows or beard of you want to. To make the lips coat a piece of tissue paper with glue then fold it up and stick it where you want it on your puppet. H)Finally, I hope your puppet turns out how you wanted it to or better! Me making my puppet.
