The population 80% are black 9% are white 3% are mixed race 3% are desecendents of Indian people. How does this compare to Scotland?

So why might they be called the “Rainbow Nation”?

The contrast between the countryside (homeland) and the cities.

Homeland. areas of poverty home mostly to black south Africans

Cities Home mostly to white south Africans Beautiful homes high crime rates

Capital cities

Bloemfontein - capital of the judiciary (Lots of law offices and big companies) Court house

Cape Town - legislative capital (The National Parliament and many government offices are here) Houses of parliament, Cape town.

Pretoria is the administrative capital.
