CJK NID Background (1/2) Background of CJK NID Collaboration –Network aspect of RFID(NID) standardization issue has been covered at the ITU-T meeting since 2005 ITU-T TSAG RFID CG( ~ ) –Convenor: Mr. ByungNam LEE ITU-T TSAG JCA-NID( ~ Present) –Convenor: Mr. Frobst (Chairman of SG16) Major SGs in ITU-T including SG13, SG16 and SG17 are dealing with RFID related works with their own viewpoint –Mutual collaboration on NID issue among CJK is very important at the present time

CJK NID Background (2/2) History of CJK NID WG –During the 6th CJK Standards Meeting (Hangzhou, April, 2006.), CJK NID WG was proposed with its mission statements. –After the meeting, China and Japan endorsed the creation of this WG via . –The first meeting of CJK NID WG was held in Tokyo, Japan, October –Its second meeting was held in Jeju, Korea, February –The third meeting is being held at this time, April 2007.

CJK NID WG Activities (2/8) 1 st meeting, Tokyo, Japan, in October 2006 –Contributions 5 contributions were presented. –History and summary of N-ID activities in ITU-T –TTC views on NID –TTC organization on NID –Work methods and process of CJK NID WG –Candidate subjects for collaboration among CJK 1 meeting report was made. –Agreed and nominated at the meeting WG structure and ToR reflector for CJK NID WG Chair: Hyoungjun KIM (TTA) Vice chairs: Xueli ZHANG (CCSA) and Noboru Koshizuka (TTC)

CJK NID WG Activities (7/8) 2 nd meeting, Jeju, Korea, in February 2007 –Discussion on NID definition NID is a name of an ICT technology area including network information services triggered by automatically recognized IDs (identifiers) stored in small tags such as RFIDs, barcodes, 2D barcodes and so on –Discussion on proposed scope of Y.idserv-reqts Proposed B2C and B2B2C-type ID applications need to be covered first Agreed Q2/13 should take care for this issue

CJK NID WG Activities (8/8) 2 nd meeting, Jeju, Korea, in February 2007 –Discussion on CJK collaboration Practical collaboration of NIDs Standards –Proposed one step forward in technology and collaboration among CJK should be done to finish “exchange information”, initiate functional architecture works as early as possible and identify position and role of CJK meeting Proposed CJK Collaboration Works On NID –Proposed coordination items: »Y.idserv-reqts vs. H.xxx for NID service descriptions and requirements »Y.idserv-fra(expected) vs. H.xxx for architecture –Proposed collaboration items: »SG17 activities: X.rfpg; X.rfidsec-1; X.520 AMD 3; X.RA-nid »SG16 activities: New ID code schemes; Code resolution issues; Multimedia representation
