High Blood Pressure (topic) A presentation by: Eduardo Lopez, Jr. (name) Northeast High School Magnet Program (school/slc)

Project Overview This presentation should run about seven to ten minutes and will highlight the following: 1.My central reason for selecting this topic. 2.The three main points relating to my research. 3.My concluding remarks. 4. A works cited slide. 5.Time for your questions.

Why (topic) is important to me. Remember, less is more. Keep this slide (it’s optional) to a minimum of three to five sentences. It also should take no more than two minutes. Answer the following: Why did you choose this topic? Why is it important to you? What did you hope to learn from this paper? This is a good transition into the next slide (your thesis statement and first point that you will address)

Thesis Statement The focus of my paper was intended to investigate the following: –The main causes of high blood pressure. –The prominent treatments of high blood pressure. –The lifestyle people live with high blood pressure. –Essentially, you are taking the main points of your thesis and turning them into bullet points.

Your First Point (continued for the next two slides) Go back to your paper and select three important points from the section of your first point. Summarize these points down to one to two sentences. You should be able to recall information from these “jumping off” sentences.

Conclusion Restate your thesis and main points you have made for your paper.

Works Cited Now, you want to cite information that you used in your power point presentation. If you verbally said a statistic, I don’t think you need to cite it. But if you wrote it on any of your slide, you must cite it. Also, I’m requiring you to use at least three citations in your slides.

Restate why your topic is important and question session. Quickly restate why you decided to commit a significant amount of time to research your topic. Thank the panel for paying attention. Say, “I’m now ready to answer your questions to the best of my ability.”
