8 Mark Public Health Mark Scheme Level 1: Answer describes the role of one or both key features with limited detail or evidence to back up generalised statements. Answer is basic with simple understanding of punctuation and grammar. (1 – 2 marks) Level 2: Answer talks briefly about both features and compares them simply. Answer describes key points about both features and compares them very generally (3 – 5 marks) OR Answer considers one factor’s contribution to the development of Public Health in depth Level 3: Answer explains and evaluates in depth both feature’s contribution to the development of Public Health. This includes a detailed comparison of both of the key features. Answer shows a developed understanding of spelling punctuation and grammar (6 – 8 marks) General rule = Before, During, After

What to include for 8 mark key people questions 1 paragraph on 1 person, 1 paragraph on the other person, 1 paragraph conclusion – evaluating and referring to the main question Who was the person? How did they affect Public Health (what did they do)? (problems) What changed as a result of their work? Why did what they did matter? Directly compare to the other person’s work in the conclusion
