Locating Information- Now that we’ve practiced spelling words accurately, we will work on finding information accurately. Good readers understand different parts of a book. Most nonfiction books are organized so that it is easy for readers to find information. Let’s look at ways we can find information in our own Student Edition. Look at the cover. Find the title. Read aloud You will listen to a selection called “Sounds All Around.” It tells about the many types of sounds in the world. This story is nonfiction. Is nonfiction fake or real? Remember we can use parts of a book to help find information. How could I locate information for this story? If I wanted to find this selection in a book, I could look at the table of contents to find the title and the page number on which the selection begins.
