User Group Meeting 2/11/2010 – 6:00 p.m.

Meeting Agenda 1. Group Goal: To create a forum in our local area where we can exchange ideas related to agile development practices. 2. Group Meeting Frequency: Monthly, on the second Thursday of every month. 3. Duration: 1 Hour

Reminders … 1. This group is not sponsored by TradeStation. 2. This is a public forum 3. The preference is to meet in person. 4. Solutions that work in one place, may not necessarily work in others. 5. This is you group … Suggestions for topics …

Tonight’s Topic: Testing in a Scrum Environment - My Experience Presenter: Albert Paredes, VP Quality Assurance, TradeStation Technologies 1. Structure Agile and System Teams Agile and System Team’s composition and workflow 2. Challenges: Synergy – Agile and System Team’s Synchronicity When does Agile testing ends and System Testing begins (Handoff Documentation) Documentation Documents under waterfall vs. iteration level stories – importance for testers Collocation/Distributed Teams/Outsourcing Functional vs. feature driven teams Tool selection; bug tracking, story tracking, progress and reports

4. Benefits Transparency – within and outside of teams (executives) Focus – Work effort in smaller increments makes it easier to focus on the target at hand (warning on long term planning). Collation and communication - The environment lends itself to improved team collaboration and accountability (e.g. daily stand ups, story boards, iteration and release planning and collocation). 5. Target Increase d productivity and quality – Frequent releases with improved quality Bugs found earlier in the development process Stakeholders actively involved in development at all points. Tonight’s Topic: Testing in a Scrum Environment - My Experience Presenter: Albert Paredes, VP Quality Assurance, TradeStation Technologies
