“What Are You Thinking About?” Philippians 4:1-9 August 30, 2009

I. We need to have similar thinking in order to maintain fellowship. We should stand firm in the Lord. – By setting our minds on heavenly things. – By working together in unity Reconcile differences Enlist the help of others

I. We need to have similar thinking in order to maintain fellowship. We should agree with each other in the Lord. – We are in agreement by rejoicing in the Lord always. – We are in agreement by letting our gentleness be evident to all.

II. We need to have controlled thinking to maintain tranquility. We should not be anxious about anything. – We should pray about everything. Anxiety comes from worry. – Worry is a product of self-absorption – Worry is unproductive The antidote to worry is to present our requests to God. – By prayer and petition – With thanksgiving

II. We need to have controlled thinking to maintain tranquility. We should not be anxious about anything. – We should pray about everything. – The peace of God transcends understanding. It will guard our hearts It will guard our minds “in Christ Jesus”
