How are our water supplies different? LO: By using a video resource can we find out more about the water supply both in our own country and in Ethiopia. Can we come up with some serious questions for a serious issue? The UN millennium goals state that… Halve, by 2015, the proportion of the population without sustainable access to safe drinking water and basic sanitation

e/clips/water-supply- infrastructure/7405.html Then watch the 3 clips from the region around Gondar Ethiopia Complete the fill in sheet to start to consider the differences

What’s the difference? Our Water supply seems secure – what problems might we still experience? Ethiopia’s water supply is not the same for every person – why not?

What are the issues? Half of you are going to consider the issues for the UK The other half are going to think about the issues for Ethiopia You need to be in your groups of 6

What are the issues? You need to be in your groups of 5 1.On the large piece of paper each of you will write as many issues that you can think of surrounding your countries water supply. (this is done on your own) 2. You then take turns to read your ideas to the rest of the group (no one interrupts!) 3. You then discuss together which are the most important issues that you would like to take forward as a group
