MY DREAM JOB IS

MAIN DUTY POLICE OFFICERS ENFORCE THE LAW AND MAINTAIN ORDER MAINLY BY CATCHING LAWBREAKERS AND WORKING WITH OTHER LAW-ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS TO SOLVE AND PREVENT CRIMES. MANY POLICE OFFICERS PATROL COMMUNITIES ON FOOT, ON BIKE OR IN SQUAD CARS. ENFORCE: TO PUT OR KEEP IN FORCE, TRAFFIC LAWS WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED.

Other Duties Some police officers may be assigned to direct control traffic in chaotic areas, or be called to testify in court in a criminal case. At police stations, they may be assigned to miscellaneous tasks in crime laboratories or records departments.

Types of Police Officers Police can be differentiated by rank or assigned duties. For instance, a sheriff enforces the law on the county level, and a highway patrol officer enforces traffic laws pertaining to highways. Differentiated: to form or mark differently from other such things; distinguish.

Education A high school diploma or GED is the minimal educational requirement for policemen. However, some policemen have college degrees, usually in criminal justice.

Salary According to the 2008 report by the. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the average police officer made an annual salary of $52,810 in the U.S.A
