Ⅰ. PS Driver Installation Open Html Help Show option dialog Select the printer Exit Status Monitor Printer Driver Installer –It is the default method of Samsung Printer Driver installation. –It is very easy to add printer. “Add printer wizard” –It needs INF file and Driver files. –It is supported by Windows. –It is difficult for normal user to add printer. –It is an optional installation method for Samsung Printer.

PS Driver Show option dialog Select the printer Checking points after printer driver installation. –Check, whether the printer is installed or not in printer folder. –Check printer port with actually connected port to printer device. (LPT, USB or Network). –Print test page with installed printer driver.

Ⅰ. PS Driver Printer Driver Options(1) Orientation Allow you to select the direction of the printed page. The default is Portrait. Your choices are: –Portrait (Select to print page that is taller than it is wide) –Landscape (Select to print page that is wider than it is tall) –Rotated Landscape (Rotate the paper 90 degrees counterclockwise from Landscape)

Ⅰ. PS Driver Printer Driver Options(2) Print Order Print Order allows you to define which pages will be printed in what sequence. The default is Front to Back. You can select another Print Order by selecting an appropriate choice in the Print Order list. Your choices are: –Front to Back (from first page to last page) –Back to Front (from last page to first page)

Ⅰ. PS Driver Printer Driver Options(3) Pages per Sheet –Pages per Sheet allows you to specify how many pages to print per sheet. The default is 1. The available options are: ※ In Pscript (Microsoft Postscript Driver) version lower than , 12-up could show up instead of 16-up. ※ Booklet is available only when Duplex Unit is installed. Windows 98/ME1, 2, 4 Windows NT4.01, 2, 4, 6, 9, 16 Windows 2000/ XP/2003 1, 2, 4, 6, 9, 16, Booklet

Ⅰ. PS Driver Print on Both Sides (Duplex) Print on Both Sides allows you to duplex printing. The default is None. Your choices are: –None (pint on one side) –Flip on Long Edge –Flip on Short Edge ※ Print on Both Side is available only when Duplex Unit is installed. Printer Driver Options(4)

Ⅰ. PS Driver Printer Driver Options(5) Paper source When selecting Automatically Select in Paper Source, the printer automatically selects the correct tray based on the paper size selected. The default is Automatically Select. –Automatically Select (automatically selects the correct Paper Source based on the Paper Size) –Multi-Purpose Tray (able to load paper of different size) –Tray 1 –Tray 2 (optional Tray) –Tray 3 (optional Tray) –Tray 4 (optional Tray) –Manual Feeder (selects the print manually from the Manual Tray)

Ⅰ. PS Driver Printer Driver Options(6) Paper Type –Specify which media to print on. The default value is Printer Default.

Ⅰ. PS Driver Printer Driver Options(7) Paper size –Paper Size allows you to choose the size of the paper or envelope you are printing. –NOTE: It is possible that the application software you are using may override this setting. If there are problems, check that the application software is set to the same Paper Size as the printer. –When the user select Custom Page Size, the Postscript Custom Size dialog appears, and the user can create a user defined paper size.

Ⅰ. PS Driver Printer Driver Options(8) Copies –Allow you to choose the number of print. The default is 1. You can select up to 999 for 98/ME and 9999 for 2000/XP/2003/NT4.0. You can type the number of copies you want or use the up and down arrows to scroll to the desired number of copies. –NOTE: This setting is independent of the Copies selection that may appear within the software application print dialog box. To avoid conflicts and delays, do not use the two settings simultaneously.

Ⅰ. PS Driver Printer Driver Options(9) Print Quality –Allow you to select the quality of document. The default is 600 dpi (Normal). Your Choices are : 600 dpi (Normal) 1200 dpi (Best) –NOTE: When selecting 1200 dpi (Best), Normal and Text Enhancement in Image Mode can not be selected.

Ⅰ. PS Driver Printer Driver Options(10) Scaling –Specify whether to reduce or enlarge documents by percentage. Default is up to 1000 : Windows 2000 Windows XP Windows 2003 Windows NT up to 400 : Windows 98 Windows ME

Ⅰ. PS Driver Printer Driver Options(11) Fit to Page –Specify how to handle the page in case the document size is different from the paper size selected in printer. The default is “Prompt User”. Your choices are : Prompt User Nearest Size and Scale Nearest Size and Crop

Ⅰ. PS Driver Printer Driver Options(12) Toner Save Mode –Allow you to save toner on every job. It has options, ‘ON’ and ‘OFF’. The default value is ‘OFF’. –Your choices are : ON OFF

Ⅰ. PS Driver Printer Driver Options(13) Image Mode –Specify whether to enhance text or not. –NOTE: Normal and Text Enhancement are only for 600 dpi (Normal). When 1200 dpi (Best) is selected Normal and Text Enhancement can not be selected.

Ⅰ. PS Driver Printer Driver Options(14) Reverse Duplex –Reverse Duplex allows you to select general print order compare to duplex print order. –NOTE: Reverse Duplex is available only for when following conditions are satisfied. 1. Duplex Unit is installed. 2. Print on Both Sides (Duplex), either Flip on Long Edge or Flip on Short Edge, is selected.

Ⅰ. PS Driver Printer Driver Options(15) Information Page –Print a Information page containing the printer name, the user ID, and job name before printing the document. Default value is Off.

Ⅰ. PS Driver Printer Driver Options(16) Job Setting –This option allows you to select how to print or save the printing file by using the optional HDD. –NOTE: Job Setting is available only for when HDD is installed. This is for Windows 2000 or later. This option is provided in different way in Windows 98/ME and NT.

Ⅰ. PS Driver Job Setting (1) Normal –For normal printing without storing your document in the HDD. –To store, check ‘Store Print Job’ option. ※ User ID and Job Name do not allow ‘/’ and ‘\’.

Ⅰ. PS Driver Job Setting (2) Proof –For making more than two copies. After printing the first copy, and then waits so that you can check the printing if there is any problem. After checking, you can continue printing the remaining copies. –To store, check ‘Store Print Job’ option. ※ User ID and Job Name do not allow ‘/’ and ‘\’.

Ⅰ. PS Driver Job Setting (3) Confidential –Send the confidential document with a specified password to HDD so that you can prevent other user from accessing it. –To store, check ‘Store Print Job’ option. –Password must be 4 digit number. ※ User ID and Job Name do not allow ‘/’ and ‘\’.

Ⅰ. PS Driver Job Setting (4) Store –Save the document in the hard disk without printing. When printing stored document you must enter the password. –To store without password so that any user can print the document, check ‘Store in Public’ option. –Password must be 4 digit number. ※ User ID and Job Name do not allow ‘/’ and ‘\’.

Ⅰ. PS Driver Job Setting (5) Spool –Spool the document into the hard disk and then print it from the hard disk queue, decreasing the computer’s work load. ※ User ID and Job Name do not allow ‘/’ and ‘\’.

Ⅰ. PS Driver Job Setting (6) Delay –Print the document at a specified time. –NOTE : This function is only for Windows 2000 or later version. ※ User ID and Job Name do not allow ‘/’ and ‘\’.

Ⅰ. PS Driver File Port ※ When selecting File Port some features are disabled. –Page Order. –Booklet.

Ⅰ. PS Driver Installable Options(1) Optional Trays (Tray 2, Tray 3, Tray 4) –When installing Tray 2, Tray 3, or Tray 4 user should select Installed at the Installable Options to let the driver recognize Tray 2, Tray 3, or Tray 4. The default value is Not Installed. ※ Tray 2, Tray 3, Tray 4, Duplex Unit, and Optional Hard Disk Drive can be automatically updated through Network or USB port. See Automatic Configuration.

Ⅰ. PS Driver Installable Options(2) Duplex Unit –When installing Duplex Unit, user should select Installed at the Installable Options to let the driver recognize Duplex Unit. The default value is Not Installed.

Ⅰ. PS Driver Installable Options(3) Optional Hard Disk Drive –When installing Optional Hard Disk Drive, user should select Installed at the Installable Options to let the driver recognize Optional Hard Disk Drive. The default value is Not Installed.

Ⅰ. PS Driver Installable Options(4) Printer Memory –When installing additional Printer Memory, user should select capacity of total memory installed at the Installable Options to let the driver recognize Printer Memory. The default value is 64MB. –Your choices are : 64MB 96MB 128MB 160MB 192MB 256MB 288MB 320MB 384MB 512MB

Ⅰ. PS Driver The configuration of installable options such as Tray 2, Tray 3, Tray 4, Duplex Unit, and Optional Hard Disk Drive (HDD) is updated once automatically through network or USB whenever user opens or closes printer property sheet page. NOTE : Automatic Configuration works only if printer property sheet page is opened or closed. Automatic Configuration

Ⅰ. PS Driver New Features in Vista(1) Pages per Sheet –Basic function is same as Legacy Windows OS. –It allows user to provide an option for drawing borders which does not provided in Legacy Windows OS. –User may select the order/layout for this. See the next slide. –Booklet is provided as a separated option.

Ⅰ. PS Driver New Features in Vista(2) Pages per Sheet Layout –User may select the layout of ‘Pages per Sheet’. The default is ‘Right then Down’. –Your choices are : Right then Down Down then Right Left then Down Down then Left

Ⅰ. PS Driver New Features in Vista(3) Booklet –Basic function is same as Legacy Windows OS. –It allows user to provide an option for drawing borders which does not provided in Legacy Windows OS. –User may select the layout for this. See the next slide. –Booklet is provided as a separated option.
