Goals of the Parent Liaison To establish ongoing dialogue between parents and teachers To help parents know what is expected of children To establish a friendly environment To include parents who have language barriers To help parents become better teachers To help parents continue learning environments at home To get 100% participation on monthly parent night To motivate parents to join a formal parent organization To lobby for support from local businesses and community organization To work closely with the P-Team (professional school counselor, pupil personnel worker, parent liaison) on matters that affect student achievement To provide information on all resources available to parents/caretakers for the benefit of PGCPS students To design, furnish and provide a parent resource center for PGCPS parents/caretakers

What Northview ES Needs from Parents/Caretakers We need you to volunteer We need you to support the PAT (Parents Assisting Teachers) initiative We need you to visit the classroom at least twice a year We need you to attend all monthly parent meetings and workshops We need you to communicate with teachers We need you to become members of the National PTA We need you to donate resources/supplies We need you to set up conferences with teachers by phone or in person We need you to elicit support from local businesses and community organizations We need you to talk to our students about your career We need you to mentor students
