Context ~ Commenced on April 19, 1775 ~ Between the patriots and the loyalists ~Patriots held the majority of the terriory(80-90%), whereas the loyalists only held 15-20% ~Declaration of Independence was signed July 4 th, 1776 ~France joined the war, when they aligned with the Americans in 1778.
