5 Construction of Regional Landfill in BiH –First phase of construction sanitary landfills in BiH through WB loan, 2002 – 2008 included: Sarajevo, Banja Luka, Zenica, Tuzla, Bihać, Bijeljina -Second phase of WB loan will start from 2009 to 2014 include construction of new regional landfills: in FBiH: Mostar, Goražde, Zenica,Livno in RS : Prijedor, Zvornik, Derventa, Doboj –Tešanj, Trebinje -EC CARDS 2006, Rehabilitation of Trebinje and Kneževo dumpsite - EU Technical Assistance trough IPA – 2008, Component II Preparation of feasibility study for selection of regional sanitary landfills in Bosnia and Hercegovina

6 Climate Change –BiH ratified UN Climate Change Conventions (UNFCCC) 20 th July 2000 (Official gazete B&H No. 19/00), and –Kyoto Protocol, 22 nd April 2008,( Official gazete B&H No. 03/08) as a Non Anex I Party, –In cooperation with UNDP organised compilation of the Initial National Communication and will be completed by the end of 2009 –Establishing of DNA for CDM Projects, supported by Delegation of EC, will be completed in February 2009 PROJECTS: –Capacity building in developing countries to participate in the CDM is usaully supported by UNDP –Through the MDG-F project, UNDP initiated in BiH a project “Development of CDM institutional and legal framework” which will help government to create favorable conditions for development and approval of CDM projects
