19 Lessons Learnt so far on IPA III Environmental requirements for all types of projects under IPA III; Project must comply with the environmental acquis; Projects co-financed by IFIs must comply with the environmental acquis; Defining roles and responsibilities to all stakeholders in the process as early as possible; Planning of programming; need for support documents; Importance of transparency and justification for projects chosen to the OP;

20 Lessons Learnt so far on IPA III Developing adequate expertise for project preparation; Challenge of preparing and implementing projects by municipalities; Importance of quality of EIA and public consultations process; Special focus on nature protection areas; Open and pro-active approach to preparing and submitting projects;
