British Traditions England is full of culture and traditions which have been around for hundreds of years. British customs and traditions are famous all over the world. When people think of Britain they often think of people drinking tea, or eating fish, but there is more to Britain than just those things.

Celtic agriculture and animal breeding produced a wide variety of foodstuffs for indigenous Celts and Britons. Anglo-Saxon England developed meat and herbs stewing techniques before the practice became common in Europe. The Norman conquest introduced exotic spices into England in the Middle Ages.

The main religion in Britain is Christianity The main religion in Britain is Christianity. Most Christians belong to the Church of England or the Church of Scotland. These are Protestant Churches. There are also many Roman Catholics, as Christianity was first introduced by the Romans during second century.

One of the most famous national costumes in the world is that worn in Scotland. Today traditional dress for men in Scotland is a kilt with shirt, waistcoat and tweed jacket and a bonnet on the head.

English people love picnics and garden parties English people love picnics and garden parties. Over 30,000 people attend the Royal Garden Parties each year. They are used today as a way to enable the British Establishment to reward public service to the community .
