They lived in tribes and loved fighting.

3. The Romans They came to England (55BC).
England became part of the Roman Empire.
They founded London and lots of cities.
The Emperor Hadrian built a wall to keep the aggressive Scots out of England.

4. The Anglo-Saxons The Anglo-Saxons invaded England in 450 AD.
They came from Northern parts of Europe and they had a Germanic language.
We can considered this language the first form of English, the Old English.
They divided England into 8 different kingdoms.

5. The Normans The last invaders of England were the Normans (1066).
They were from France, they spoke French and had French customs.
It was a period of conflict between the populations.
