We live on the outside part of the Earth and this part is called the crust. Deep inside the Earth the temperature is very high and lots of hot melted rocks are found there. Imagine what it would be like if these hot rocks escape out of a crack in the Earth and fly in the air…………………………

IT IS A VOLCANO!!!!!!!!!! !

It is a mountain or a hill made of very hot melted rocks called “Lava” which comes from deep beneath the Earth’s surface with gases and ash.

A volcano grows when the melted hot rocks deep beneath the Earth’s crust called “Magma” find a way through a crack and can escapes with gases. Once the magma escapes through the Earth’s crust it is called “Lava”.

I learned that volcanoes are very harmful because : Buildings are destroyed and people are made homeless. People and animals are killed. The clouds of ash make plants poisonous. Dust causes illness to survivors. The sky becomes very dark with heavy rains.

I learned that volcanoes are useful in some ways: Plants and beautiful flowers can grow better in volcanic soil. Volcanoes help to build the land we live on by forming islands. Diamonds come from volcanic rocks. Healthy gases are released.
