Proposal

Project Concept For my final project I’m am attempting to add a new school twist to the style of street artist by using realistic digital painting combined with flat objects to give my piece the feel of older street art. What I want to do is build a van in illustrator and paint the whole thing in Photoshop. I will than make it look like someone is putting graffiti on the van while another person is walking away with one of the tires from the van. My main goal in this project is to use concepts and ideas from a few other street artists and give them a new school twist by digitally painting them. The painting is going to be a mix of realism as well as some aspects that will flatten it out so it will have a mixed media feel in my opinion. The truck that I am using to draw is also a car from the them late 80’s/ early 90’s with graffiti all over it so I think that will also help with my referencing street art because I think that street art was at it’s height in the late 80’s/ early 90’s even though it is still really popular today. A few artist inspired my work that were also very popular in the 20 th century such as John Baldessari, Andy Warhol, Banksy and Keith Haring all of which I think have a very street approach to their art works. Although the concept may seem very simple, the detail in this piece is what is going to make this piece very interesting. The realism of the truck plus the flatness of the background and people is going to give it and interesting feel, and the graffiti added on to the truck it what’s going to make everything come together.

John Baldessari I really like the blocked color on this, and this is one of the aspects that I used in my project

Banksy Banksy realism with paint, in a scene that is not really about realism also gave me inspiration

Keith Haring Keith haring like John Baldessari used blocks of colors to my his forms and people

Andy Warhol Andy Warhol took images and made with some type of realism but changed the colors giving them a different look
