Contacts for Response Services Each region has at least one responder on call 24 hours per day For spills call: Information we ask for: – Date and time of spill – Material spilled and volume – Resources at risk – Call back name and phone number – Directions to the scene MAINE DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION

Our Initial Response A responder will call the on scene contact to get additional details and ensure we are properly equipped. It can take time for a responder to arrive on a remote scene. Each region covers a large geographic area. The responder should provide an ETA to help plan the response. Once on scene, the responder will make an initial assessment of the spill.
