1/6/2016Wong, Morrison, Miller, Cruey2 What we’re made of… ~ String ~ Marbles ~ Marbles ~ PVC Pipe ~ Wood scraps ~Hammer & Nails ~Bits and Bobs

1/6/2016Wong, Morrison, Miller, Cruey3 The Marble Adventure.. ~Small marble drops down a series of cardboard ramps ~Lands in a mountain dew bottle ~Large marble is dropped into funnel ~Triggers spring loaded hot-wheel ramp ~Ramp ejects car ~Car hits switch which turns on light bulb

1/6/2016Wong, Morrison, Miller, Cruey4 Energetic Marble Moments.. ~ Starts with gravitational potential energy as the ball starts at top of the cardboard ramps ~ When small marble falls into balanced center of mass, (bottle) energy is transferred into rotational kinetic energy as the bottle tilts. ~Then kinetic energy of large marble is transferred to the spring loaded ramp which causes car to be ejected ~Ends when car switches on the light bulb

1/6/2016Wong, Morrison, Miller, Cruey5 Marble Money Overview ~Marbles $1.97 ~TIME spent on project: 60 hrs x $6.00 (minimum wage?) $360.0 ~Scrap material $15.0 Hence… ~Total Cost$376.97
