Welcome to Yr8 PL! New year admin… Remember to change your teachers name and room number on the front of your book. You will also need a new WAD flier to be stuck on top of the old one.

The 4 Be’s of PL… Be Polite Be a Positive Contributor Be an Active Listener Be Respectful… To yourself To others And your equipment

Relationships LO: To be explore ways in which you can raise your own self esteem and that of others,

What does it mean to have a relationship?

Is it all about me ? How to be more positive about yourself and build self esteem. Standard 2.3: Well being curriculum.

What is self esteem? Self esteem is how we feel about ourselves. If we are quite positive in our feelings and emotions then we are said to have high self esteem. However… Low self esteem can be very common too. There are lots of things that can be done to raise our own and each others self esteem.

Why is it so important? Simply because the better we feel about ourselves then the better we perform, not only at school but in everything we do.

Lets draw… You have 5 mins to draw a portrait of the person next to you. Don’t let them see!! Remember…be nice!!! Around your picture write down all the emotions that you may feel throughout the day.

There are some other things that may make us feel better… Visit each station around the room and in your groups carry out what each tasks says…

Is it just all about me though? We have responsibility to try and raise and maintain the self esteem of others too. Any ideas of how we could do that? As you walk around the room, shake hands with someone and pay them a compliment on what you think are some of their biggest strengths. Which compliment meant the most to you?

To finish…

A final thought…
