Hydro Multi-B – (2) or (3) CME Pumps in Parallel Common suction supply ( manifold ) Common discharge ( manifold ) The pumps are the same model Flow & head are the same for each pump Total head is the same as the head of the individual pumps Total flow is the sum of the flows of the individual pumps

Hydro Multi-B Overview Simple to use variable speed pumping system – (2) or (3) pumps 30% - 40% Less cost than comparably sized BoosterpaQ Flows to 330 GPM Heads to 231 FT ( 100 PSI boost ) 232 PSI Maximum working pressure Liquid temperatures up to 140 Degrees-F Ambient temperatures up to 104 Degrees-F CME3 – CME15 Pumps ( “I” version ) 1.5 – 7.5 HP AQQE seal 1½ “- 3” NPT or 4” ANSI flange manifold connections UL Listed NSF61 Approval

Hydro Multi-B Systems are Very Compact

CME Pumps on Hydro Multi-B Systems CME “I” version – All 304 SS wetted components Permanent magnet motors on some pumps 1 X 230V – Through 2 HP 3 X 460V – Through 3 HP Asynchronous motors on some pumps 3 X 208-230 – 2 HP, 3 HP, 5 HP & 7.5 HP 3 X 460V – 5 HP & 7.5 HP

Grundfos CU323 Controller Controls the Hydro Multi-B Developed & manufactured by Grundfos Automatically insures the best operation in all situations Number of pumps in operation Energy optimized pump cascade control No need for “system expert” to operate the system Very low potential for improper use

Grundfos CU323 Controller Interface Pump Status Pump Controled by CU323 Pump is Off System On / Off Button Increase Setpoint Pump On / Off Button Setpoint & Other Information Pump Number Decrease Setpoint Status of Suction Pressure Status of Discharge Pressure or Level Alarm Reset Actual Discharge Value, Value Status & Status of Sensor Power & System Status Alarm & Warning Status

Hydro Multi-B Control Panel Manufactured by Grundfos Panel is NEMA 3R rated Panel is UL listed CU323 Emergency / Normal switch One per pump Normal setting – Controlled by CU323 Emergency Setting – Pump runs at full speed CU323 is deactivated Mains power disconnect

Hydro Multi-B Input / Output & Communication Capabilities Grundfos PC Tools E-Products (2) Analog inputs (2) Digital inputs (3) PTC sensors or thermal switches (2) Digital outputs (2) Signal relays BACnet LON Modbus GSM GENIbus Grundfos CIM card

Hydro Multi-B Pump Cascade Control Constant Pressure Application Insures that only the required number of pumps are running Maintain setpoint pressure Meet the flow demand 1st Pump starts when the actual discharge pressure drops below setpoint Another pump starts if the other pump(s) can’t maintain the setpoint When the flow demand drops, the pump(s) stop if not needed to meet demand

Hydro Multi-B Automatic Pump Changeover Insures an equal number of running hours on each pump Insures that another pump will start to meet an increased demand Another pump must be available There are (3) types of automatic pump changeovers Operation-dependent pump change Pump with lowest number of operating hours will start 1st Pump with highest number of operating hours will stop 1st Alarm-dependent pump change Will stop a pump that faults, and start another pump Pump with lowest number of operating hours will start Time-dependent pump change Comes into play if a pump or pumps are running continuously Once every (24) hours, will check if another pump, with lower operating hours, is available, and if so, will stop the pump and start the pump with lower operating hours

Hydro Multi-B Standby Pumps Constant Pressure Application Must use Grundfos PC Tools Industrial E-Products to set this function (1) or (2) Pumps can be selected as standby pumps A standby pump will not operate unless another pump faults A standby pump is not a specific pump Status as a standby pump alternates between all pumps

Hydro Multi-B Stop Function / Low Flow Operation Constant Pressure Application The last pump in operation can be automatically stopped due to low / no flow demand The CU323 continually monitors flow to determine a low flow demand Low flow = flow < minimum flow If low flow is detected, the system will go into start / stop operation The system will cycle on / off with a low flow demand The system will stop if the the actual discharge pressure is above the setpoint The system will start if the actual discharge pressure is below the setpoint If the low demand increases above minimum flow, the system will revert to normal constant pressure operation

Hydro Multi-B Dry Run Protection A pressure switch is supplied as standard A float switch can be used A level switch can be used External electrode relay Such as a Grundfos LiqTec Analog sensor Minimum pressure is preset at the factory Minimum pressure can be changes using PC Tools Industrial E-Products

Hydro Multi-B Other Protection Functions Maximum discharge pressure exceeded Stops the system if discharge pressure is > 22 PSI above setpoint for (5) seconds Indications are shown on the CU323 Automatically restarts the system if the discharge pressure falls below the setpoint Minimum time between start / stop of pumps Insures a delay between the start / stop of one pump and the start / stop of another pump Prevents “hunting” when pumps start / stop continuously Redundant discharge pressure sensor – Requires PC Tools Industrial E-Products Motor protection MLE motors have motor protection built in to them Controller lock function Press “Reset” & “Increase setpoint” or “Decrease setpoint” for (2) seconds to lock Press “Reset” & “Increase setpoint” or “Decrease setpoint” for (2) seconds to unlock H.L: 95 % of Tank height H.L: 1,5 bar above SP Minimum time between start stop 10 sek default WS: 5 seconds delay!
