Unit 6 Reshaping the Nation Chapter 16 The Frontier West Chapter 19 The Rise of Industry Chapter 20 A Diverse Nation

The Frontier West – As settlers moved west, Native Americans lost their lands and saw their way of life threatened. The Rise of Industry – New inventions and ways of doing business spurred economic growth and transformed people’s lives. A Diverse Nation – Immigrants contributed to the growth of the cities and enriched American society.

Ch. 18, Section 1 -The Mining Frontier Describe how mining changed the West. Identify the builders of the first cross country railroad. Describe how railroads helped build the West.
