Resident Aliens People living legally in the United States but are not citizens

Law of the Blood Principle in which citizenship is determined by parentage rather than by place of birth

Law of the Soil Principle in which citizenship is determined by place of birth

Naturalized Citizen A person who is not born a U.S. citizen who goes through the legal process of becoming a U.S. citizen.

Oath A formal pledge or promise

Allegiance Loyalty to a person, country or belief
