 Ageing as a societal challenge theme  Postgraduate predominance  Extension of theme to undergraduate students from all faculties  Development of trans-faculty links

 Students (FMS, HASS, SAGE)  Older people (Exbex consultation group) ◦ Ageing map and gap analysis ◦ Student learning needs analysis – questionnaire and focus groups ◦ Draft and refine curriculum ◦ Design pilot

 Keen interest in health and biology of ageing and ageing around the world.  78% of students wanted lecture based learning.  Disappointed with the small amount of people who saw contact with older people as a reason to do module.  Happy with large amounts of people wanting to be involved with our pilot module.

 New ideas for HASS module outline  Students were excited to return to multi- discipline teaching  Ways of teaching on the module  Caution about contact with older people

 Helped build on current FMS module ideas  Eager to learn about theory behind biological ageing  Would enjoy contact with older people on the module  Interesting ideas about charities we could work with to help further build the module
