Click the mouse to continue. Using styles A style is a saved collection of formatting, such as a font, font size, pattern, and alignment, that you can combine, name, and save as a group. A style can include any of these six attributes.

Click the mouse to continue. Using styles Once you save a style, you can apply it to a cell or range to save time and maintain consistency in formatting. Excel has six predefined styles. By default, every cell is initially formatted with the Normal style.

Click the mouse to continue. Creating a style by example You can create a style in two ways. One way is to use an example of the cell that has the formats you want to associate with a style. 1. Select a cell containing the formats you want to include in the style.

Click the mouse to continue. Creating a style by example 2. Click Format on the menu bar, and then click Style.

Click the mouse to continue. Creating a style by example 3. In the Style dialog box, type a new name for the style, and then click OK.

Click the mouse to continue. Creating a style manually 1. Click any cell, click Format on the menu bar, and then click Style to open the Style dialog box. If no cells have the formats you want for the style, you can choose the formats when you name the style.
