Presentation transcript:

Measures the kinetic energy of the air molecules in the air. Thermometer Measures Temperature. Temperature measures of hot or cold a substance is. Measures the kinetic energy of the air molecules in the air.

ANENOMETER MEASURES THE WINDSPEED OF THE AIR. THE CUPS GET FILLED WITH THE AIR AND MAKES IT SPIN AND DIFFERENT SPEEDS. THE FASTER THE CUPS MOVE THE FASTER THE WIND

Weather Vane shows which way the wind is blowing. Shows the direction in which the wind is coming from and where it is going.

Barometer Measures the air pressure in a particular area. As Temperature increases and decreases molecules will hit the aneroid cell and move the needle.

Sling Psychrometer This instrument measures relative humidity and dewpoint. As the instrument spins the two thermometers will read two different temperatures Dry Bulb-Temperature of the air that is being measured. Wet Bulb- Temperature of the air as water evaporates. “Cooling Process”

Rain Guage Measures the rain drops into the tube as precipitation falls to the ground As the water collects into the cylinder, it can be measured and recorded.
