Library Staff Survey

Student Experience Communication and engagement key - finding ways to inform and include students in service design and delivery The Library as destination for all users - Interactive, flexible and collaborative library spaces, balanced with quiet spaces, a “third space” Relationship building and partnerships - using our relationships with other parts of the university such as other student support services and faculty staff Photo: Belinda Ireland

Research Integrating physical and virtual space and providing a cohesive set of research support services and technologies Facilitating inter-disciplinary and team based approaches Enabling discovery Making UWA’s research more accessible and discoverable. Continuing to build collaborative partnerships to develop services and expertise across the university.

Education Students need to develop a complex range of digital and information literacies – librarians collaborating with educators to support the development of students information, digital and critical literacy skills. Contribute to engaging, transformative, experiential learning – through integrated, evidence based library collections, services and spaces and support for learning technologies. MOOCs and online course delivery – increasingly impacts on educational practice and library content/copyright support

Information Resources Managing collections (including Special Collections)–across formats and publishing models, through evidence based collections that meet teaching and research needs. Efficient and multiple discovery points – of UWA publications and data sets through improved metadata standards, web integration and innovative interfaces. Managing collection budgets – through collaboration, cost effective offsite management and consortiums and open access initiatives to manage subscription costs.
