The Angles and Saxons came from northern Europe.

The Romans came to Britain in AD 43.The Romans did not conquer the whole of Britain. They built a wall across northern Britain to keep the Scots out. The Romans stayed in Britain for about 360 years. They left in AD 410 because tribes from Germany attacked the Empire.

The Celts came to Britain in 400 BC. They came from Belgium.

The Normans came from Normandy in France. They attacked England in 1066.The battle took place near Hastings. The battle started at 9 o’clock in the morning.

The Vikings came from Norway and Denmark. They came in 800 AD.
