The Math Involved This career involves many different types of mathematics such as conversions of drugs and other chemicals. It also includes the measurements of samples and compounds.

Educational Requirements Bachelor of science degree; doctoral degree in pharmacology or related field degree. They use a lot of Chemistry and Biology. Most larger universities have programs and majors available.

Average Salary The median salary for this profession is approximately $97,600.

What They Do Pharmacologists study the effects of drugs and other chemical agents on animals and humans. Their main responsibility is to develop and test chemical agents that can cure, relieve or prevent disease.

What They Do (continued) They spend long hours in laboratories researching. They also perform autopsies on animals to see the effects of drugs in their systems.
