Role of trade union in the policy creation regarding health and safety at the workplace in Slovakia Ing. Milan TóthOhrid, Macedonia general secretary NKOS October, 9th 2015

NKOS is active participant in social dialogue at national level and active co-legislators regarding the conditions of health and safety at work, using all forms and methods of labor union action to create safe working conditions for employees. These will be updated regularly so that trade unions at all levels will have flexibility to respond to events in the field and they can adjust their actions to improve the working conditions of employees. Social dialog and OHS

"Life and Health do not know the political orientation" The basic motto of the trade unions is the principle of "Life and Health do not know the political orientation". Political changes may not reduce conditions of safety and health at work. The unfavorable economic situation of employers must not lead to reducing health care for employees and safe working conditions.

For consistent use of existing rights that unions have in this area is NKOS mainly focused on: - consistent use of the established tripartite system – ( Economic and Social Council of the Slovak Republic) in the preparation of legislation aimed at raising standards of safety and health of workers at work, including the empowerment and rights of trade unions in this area

For consistent use of existing rights that unions have in this area is NKOS mainly focused on: - support for changes to the current system of compensation for occupational accidents and occupational diseases in the creation of a separate comprehensive system of accident insurance, provided by a public non-profit institutions for bipartite principle, the governing bodies comprising representatives of employers and employees

For consistent use of existing rights that unions have in this area is NKOS mainly focused on: - trends and associated factors of new emerging, especially
