Introduction Olympic Value Eat Well Get Active Feel Good

 SmallSteps4Life is about small manageable ways to eat well, get active and feel good.  SmallSteps4Life is leading the healthy and active lifestyles strand of 'Get Set' - the London 2012 education programme.  SmallSteps4Life is about small manageable ways to eat well, get active and feel good.

 The Olympic and Paralympic Games are about much more than sporting excellence. Underpinning the Games is the philosophy of Pierre de Coubertin, the founder of the Modern Olympic Movement.  These Values are:  Respect – fair play; knowing one’s own limits; and taking care of one’s health and the environment  Excellence – how to give the best of oneself, on the field of play or in life; taking part; and progressing according to one’s own objectives  Friendship – how, through sport, to understand each other despite any differences  SmallSteps4Life has new resources for teachers and young people, to get them started on their SmallSteps4Life challenges!  This new initiative aims to support young people to improve their health and wellbeing by setting themselves achievable challenges to get active, eat well and feel good.  Students can take on challenges individually, with their friends, or as a class.

 Eat Well is one of the three main challenges on the Smallsteps4life programme. It teaches people how to eat healthily but still enjoy the food.  Eat well Challenge: There is a variety of cereal which are healthy enough to eat and also delicious. Jus look as some of these examples.

 Get Active is about doing a bit of exercise everyday to get fit and stay healthy.  Get Active challenge: Findings from my survey: this just shows the variety of sports you can do.

 Feel Good is about taking some time to just relax and basically ‘feel good’.  Feel Good challenge:  Findings from my survey: pref 1pref 2pref 3 eating healthygetting activefeeling good getting activefeeling goodeating healthy feeling goodgetting activeeating healthy feeling goodgetting activeeating healthy getting activefeeling goodeating healthy getting activeeating healthyfeeling good getting activefeeling goodeating healthy feeling goodgetting active eating healthygetting activefeeling good getting activefeeling goodeating healthy getting activeeating healthyfeeling good getting activeeating healthyfeeling good getting activeeating healthy getting activefeeling good eating healthygetting activefeeling good getting activeeating healthy feeling goodeating healthygetting active eating healthyfeeling good getting activefeeling goodeating healthy feeling goodgetting activeeating healthy Here you can see that not many people have chosen Feeling Good as their first preference but instead have put it as their third preference. In actual fact feeling good is just as import as eating well or getting active. You need to feel good to be able to even start you day well.
