Catania Integration site 5/11/15 Integration meeting 5 Nov 2015 Latest activities in Catania site 1

Calibration of the Pressure gauges 27 Pressure gauges were calibrated in short term time - 4 gauges at 0.1 bar - so far we don’t have a chamber where performing long term test ( 1 months). ( It’s not mandatory) Question: during calibration how many minutes each gauge has to be maintained at pressure before taking note of the value? Question: at what threshold a gauges has to be rejected ? Catania Integration site 5/11/15

21 gauges were sealed with transparent silicone 2 pressure gauges with a broken window. So far in stand by ( Window can be replaced from gauges rejected) Note: In the latest version of the assembly procedure ( by Irene) none is written about calibration of pressure gauges Catania Integration site 5/11/15

Gluing of the piezo sensors Following NIKHEF style we use a unique PMT structure to glue parallelly all the piezo sensors All the piezos are glued with the structure inside the hemisphere A tool was made to make stable the PMT structure when the sphere is tilted to make the pressure gauge vertical Question: What’s the drying time to be waited before removing the structure? ( to glue more than one piezo at day with a single structure…) Tool to hold the structure Tool to position vertically the hole for the piezo sensor Catania Integration site 5/11/15

Painting black the PMT structure 2 possibility: - full painting ( our latest production) ( 1 spray can for 4 hemi-structures) - painting only of the external parts of the PMT structures Note: : In the latest version of the assembly procedure ( by Irene) none is written about painting of the PMT structures Question: what’s kind of painting has to be done? ( Oleg reported that a fully painting improves gluing of the gel behind the PMT) Question: What’s the drying time for the paint sprayed? Fully painted Partially painted Catania Integration site 5/11/15

Catania Integration site 5/11/15 Status of the structures in Catania 3 TOP structures ( 2 B + 1 C) 3 BOTTOM structures ( 2 B + 1 C) -Structures B : -Pins for deflector rings have to be cutted -PMTs have to be mounted with silicone. ( the same to hold the deflector rings) Structures C : - we don’t need cutting of the pins - we don’t need silicone to mount PMTs and deflector rings 6

Catania Integration site 5/11/15 Status of the assembly and of the components in Catania: -We have calibrated 21 pressure gauges -We have glued 10 piezo sensors -We have glued 2 mushrooms on TOP hemispheres -We are starting of using the LabView assembly software ( we didn’t reach to use that so far…we need a little help…) -We are producing tools to produce 5 DOMs for days ( so far It’s not all ready) -The production was moved from the Catanian hrbour to the INFN sezione di Catania ( thus, and increase of the menpower) -We have PMT for only 1 + ½ DOM -We have only 2 penetrators -The Catania components are in Naples ( together with the PMTs) -We are trying to arrange a travel with a van on a ship ( even if we are asking for money all around among the Catania groups…) -Please NEVERMORE that !!! -Catania components have to be sent to Catania. 7
