Important Notes NOTICE #1: Beginning Fall Quarter 2007, course major assignments, or signature pieces, will be evaluated via the TaskStream web-based toolset and assessment system. All educator preparation programs, both undergraduate and graduate, must individually subscribe to TaskStream. You will be required to submit course signature pieces via TaskStream, and receive assignment feedback and grades via TaskStream. Failure to subscribe to and use the TaskStream assessment system, as directed, will result in an “F “grade (0%) in the designated course assignments. TaskStream subscription and operating information is available online at: NOTICE #2: You must register online for field experiences through the College of Education web page: If you do not register for FEs by the designated date at the beginning of the quarter, then you will be in danger of being dropped from the course. NOTICE #3: Emergency Notification System: All Louisiana Tech students are strongly encouraged to enroll and update their contact information in the Emergency Notification System. It takes just a few minutes to ensure you're able to receive important text and voice alerts in the event of a campus emergency. For more information on the Emergency Notification System, please visit: NOTICE #4: It is recommended that you review the attendance policies at the bottom of the Project Descriptions page--

Interpreting the Calendar: What It Looks Like

Interpreting the Calendar: Weekly Class Meetings Projects that are Due. For literature circles, this means you should be prepared to meet with your group. Activities that will be completed during class, and/or resources that will be used. Chapters that will be due at the beginning of class Date of Class

Interpreting the Calendar: Field Experiences Date of Field Experience Identifies type of FE The field experience could be an observation or teaching experience at Glen View, Ruston Elementary, Hillcrest, or Cypress Springs. It could also be virtual Fes completed electronically. FEs for Alt Certs in the Winter are virtual FEs.

Inclement Weather If classes are cancelled due to inclement weather, then be sure to check Moodle. I will include information about what you should do for that class, since we would not be able to meet face-to-face. It would be your responsibility to complete the activities that are posted for that week’s class session.

TaskStream The Project Descriptions page notes what should be submitted for TaskStream, and it is your responsibility to submit all required artifacts by the due date noted on the Calendar: You should also complete the field experiences form for EDCI 423 and EDCI 424/READ 524. One form per class. You DO NOT have to submit artifacts for weekly/chapter activities or article critiques (graduate students only). The due date for TaskStream is noted on the Calendar-this due date is usually within the last two weeks of the quarter.

Contract This contract is also linked on the Calendar— Day One.

Things to Do for Next Week Refer to Day One in the Calendar for specific things you need to do for next week’s class. ◦ Assignment for Next Week: There are also materials that you need to bring with you to class next week. Be sure to review these reminders carefully!
