Coriolis Interface Module-Agenda Features and Benefits The Coriolis Interface Solution Typical Applications Installation and Setup Compatibility Conclusion
Coriolis Interface Module Communicates directly with the core processor of Emerson Coriolis meters (with an Intrinsically Safe barrier) and transmitters Automatically retrieves data for monitoring and control of Key Operating Data Calibration Information Diagnostics Information Can calculate flow based on MODBUS data no pulse transmitter required Communicates with up to six Coriolis Meters in the ROC800 (up to four in the FB107)
Features and Benefits Enables on line calibration using ROCLINK800 Enables diagnostics with quick access to Coriolis data With ROCLINK800 - control and monitor features such as: Meter Zeroing Smart Meter Verification (SMV) Transient Bubble Remediation (TBR) Transient Mist Remediation (TMR) *new* Production Volume Reconciliation (PVR) *new* - Net oil calculations
The Coriolis Interface Solution Intrinsically Safe Barrier Coriolis Interface Module Keep the pulse transmitter - Meet API Chapter 11 Replace transmitter with IS barrier - Increase value to customer - Easier to maintain (only one config tool) - Reduce total cost of ownership - Make Allocation measurements
Typical Applications Monitor well head separator performance Monitor two phase separators with Gas and Liquid flow and percent water (Net Oil) calculations Monitor three phase separators with Gas, Oil and Water outputs. Measure flow from tanks and LACT skids for truck loading and unloading
Installation and Setup The Application Guide Part D301753X012 describes the installation and set up procedure for the ROC800L and the FB107 This is similar to the Guide used in the training for the FB107 The new areas are Adding of TMR and PVR to the Module A modification to the setup for ROC800L Liquid Calcs A modification for the setup for the gas meter in the ROC800L
Adding TMR and PVR The following display shows the addition of a panel that defines the available options in the core processor PVR SMV TBR TMR This defines the options that are available in the Coriolis Meter being configured. The calibration display, the diagnostics display and smart meter verification display did not change

TBR and TMR Transient Bubble Remediation (TBR) used to handle occasional gas bubbles or slugs of air in the process fluid. Transient Mist Remediation (TMR) *new with this release* used to handle occasional gas mist (water or oil) appearances in gas flow

TMR Display
The PVR Function The PVR feature adds the ability to calculate the % water content in the Liquid being measured. The data inputs required are: The reference temperature The Oil Base Density The Water Base density The Core processor then calculates the water cut, the various flow rates and flow totals. This data is retrieved by the Coriolis Interface Module and is available for use in the Gas measurement and Liquid Measurement calculations
The PVR Display
Compatibility Version 1.10 of the Coriolis Interface module is compatible with the following: ROC800 v3.61 ROC800L v1.41 ROC800L Liquid Calcs User Program v1.04.00 FB107 v1.70 FB107 Liquid Allocation Mgmt User Program v1.00 ROCLink800 v2.41 Micro Motion Coriolis meter models 700 (v3.2 or later) and 800 (v3.9 or later) Micro Motion Transmitter models 1500, 1700, 2500, 2700 and 3700
FAQs Does the module write down to the core processor? No, it does not. Can the APM for ROC800 be used instead of the transmitter? No it cannot. For custody, a pulse for liquid is required but for gas MODBUS flow rates can be used to do the gas calculation. Can we meet the AGA 1 second update standard? A four meter run will meet 1 second updates for AGA but the 6 meter run will not as it takes about 2 Seconds to update the 6 meters. Can the MODBUS registers be changed in the module? The MODBUS registers used in the CIM are fixed and cannot be changed.
Conclusion: Measurement Challenges - Met Solution Integration of Coriolis meters with Emerson flow computers is complicated, and our competitors make it easy Coriolis Interface Module automatically links the MMI Coriolis with FB107 and ROC800 Customers may not know how effective their production systems are – How many dump cycles? How much accumulation of what? Better monitoring of the separation and dump cycle process. (Beta test unit counted 2,000 + dump cycles in a day) Remote solar powered installations require reduced power. Eliminate the need for transmitters for reduced system power requirements (Allocation applications).
