This act was passed in 1990 named for Louisiana Senator John Breaux The act’s main goal is focusing on restoration and protection of Louisiana wetlands

This has established the Costal Wetland Conservation Grant Program 70% funds go to the state of Louisiana 15% funds go to the Costal Wetland Conservation Grant Program 15% funds go to the North America Wetlands Conservation act Program

Produces partnerships in reducing wetland loss Provided $33-$44 million per year in funding for the Louisiana for restoration projects Provided $7-$8 million a year in funding for the Costal Wetlands Conservation Act for restoration projects

This act is funded through taxes from fishing equipment, import duties, small engine and motor boat fuels
