Data4all 4

5 Data4all is the name that regroups several projects carried on by the Presidency of the Council of Ministers with a common target: to improve the efficiency of public administration and the quality of public services. Dati.gov.it Dati.gov.it is the National Open Data Portal that allows everyone to see and understand open data from public administration SoldiPubblici soldipubblici.gov.it Where, whom and for what: soldipubblici.gov.it hosts online all the expenses regarding local governments. A simple way to control over expenditure data with the help of interactive tools ItaliaSicura - italiasicura.gov.it A portal that allows the display of data regarding the hydrogeological situation and, in particular, the state of emergencies (such as floods and landslides) and the related work carried out by the Government: citizens can follow the progress of the construction sites and how much money has been spent on a single intervention. OpenExpo - dati.openexpo.it The portal has been made to show the progress of Expo financial flows, purchases and payments, the state of construction site - in a more transparent way, easier to navigate by using simple visualisation tools.

 For citizens: a) greater transparency b) possibility to use innovative online services c) improved quality of life  For companies: a) availability of open data to develop goods and services b) greater transparency c) possibility to use innovative online services d) simplified relations with the PA  For public administrations: a) rationalization of expenditure b) encouraging the reuse of open data c) greater confidence d) increase of productivity Data4all - Goals 6

OpenExpo 17

Perspectives 18

 Low cost in implementing other projects  Systematic involvement of civil society  National Open Data strategy released every year with: Key datasets Results of the earlier strategies Expected outcomes  Other projects are following OpenDemanio: all the data about construction works are going to be released by the Minister of Infrastractures Sustainability 19

Pros:  Strong political commitment  Results achieved in 9 months  New datasets Cons:  Minimum participation of civil society  Too transparency oriented  Need for a long view plan for the sustainability of each single project Lessons 20

Transferability 21

 Open source code  Simple design approach  Reuse (Github channel) Transferability 22

Pros:  Low cost in design&making  Social media oriented  Hackathon ready Cons:  Limited use of other languages (only OpenExpo)  No manual/guidelines to share  No technical support for other institutions Lessons 23
