Presentation transcript:

Unit Walkthrough Level 1, Unit 3

Key vocabulary is presented and the unit theme is introduced. A high energy song lets pupils practise key vocabulary in a fun, memorable way.

Highly visual stories encourage a love of reading. Think Big questions let children personalise and use key vocabulary.

Grammar is practised interactively. A fun sticker activity reinforces pupils’ understanding of the new language.

In Content Connections, children learn about other academic areas such as science and maths. A project brings it all together. Children use what they have studied in an exciting project.

A values lesson related to the theme of the unit lets children think about what they have learnt. Phonics lessons present the sounds of English.

Children can now show what they have learnt. I Can checkboxes help children assess their own learning.

Checkpoints consolidate the material from 3 previous units and help train learners in Assessment for Learning. The Get Ready task helps identify any gaps in learners’ knowledge of the material so that teachers can focus review as needed.

The Get Set and Go tasks allow learners to use the new language in pair and group activities. Children have fun with a mini-portfolio and reassess their understanding of key language points from the previous units.
