Authoring Systems Allow educator to easily create custom (unique/targeted) computer-enhanced lessons and tutorials

Desktop Publishing Allows educator to create professional- looking printed or electronic pages, transparencies, posters, booklets, banners and books

Graphics Allows educator to create, edit, or enhance digital images (drawings, photos, graphs) to clarify, illustrate, and enhance instruction

Reference Digital collections of masses of data (text, images, sounds, videos) usually on CD- ROM/DVD-ROM allowing hyperjump access to any point

Tutorials (Drill & Practice) Tutorials present new material with opportunities for student practice or review D & P reinforces content, usually with instant feedback

Educational Games Use “game” format to present and review instructional content, improving interest level due to entertainment value

Simulations Interactive situations Students act/decide, and system updates situation for student immediately based on actions/input

Special Needs Addresses student’s requirements when special needs are result of physical or learning challenges
