 Reading/Writing/Grammar – integrated  Students will be taught to read closely in an effort to build comprehension and to promote evidential writing  Read like a detective; write like a reporter  STAR Reading, Accelerated Reader, Successmaker Reading, Benchmark tests, teacher made assessments  Master grade level writing and speaking Mrs. Basel, Mrs. Costa, Mrs. Martin, Ms. Mercer, Mrs. Hrouda, Mrs. Stuart

Let’s look at an example!  MARGO’S DILEMMA  One day everything in Margo's life came crashing down around her. She lost her job.…..  These are sent home each week and uploaded to the teacher’s websites.

 This is a great opportunity to help your child!  Students have their previous answers with them while answering the questions in class!

 We recognize and embrace the technology that is available as student learning tools.  BYLD forms to allow your child to bring in a Nook or Kindle will be sent home this week  Any books loaded onto the device, must be loaded at home prior to bringing the Nook or Kindle to school  Use and security of these devices are the sole responsibility of the parent and student
