Volunteers  The C.F.A has help from lots of volunteers.  Without volunteers the C.F.A would not be able to provide the service they do.  Volunteers can be anyone in the community from a plumber to a business manager.  Volunteers form a very important part of our community.

Why is the C.F.A important?  The C.F.A plays an important role in our community.  They make sure fires are put out as quickly as possible.  They have rules in place that help protect our homes from fire dangers.  From talking to people in the C.F.A we found that…

How would we survive a fire without the C.F.A?  There are things that we can do to prevent fires including:  cleaning up the leaves from our gutters  Mowing grass  Keeping chemical containers (e.g. petrol) away from the house.  Bushfires would be very hard to put out if we didn’t have the C.F.A community service.

What we found interesting…  The C.F.A is focused on the country areas in Victoria. There is a different title for the city fire authority – M.F.A (Metropolitan Fire Authority).  We also found it interesting talking to different volunteers at the Farm & Road’s Expo. They told us….
