Move tool To move an object around a layer, use the move tool.

Create text on a graphic Select the type tool and click on the canvas. A new layer will be created.

Working with color

Color In Photoshop, you're dealing with 2 colors: The foreground and the background. Double click on the square to see the color palette and change color.

Color picker Choose the color picker tool and click it on the color you'd like.

Paint brush The paint brush allows you to freely draw color in an image, much like an actual paint brush.

Paint can The paint can dumps color into a large space: the background or a selected area.

Eraser tool Acts like a physical eraser. Choose a brush and erase the pixels you'd like to remove.

Special effects

Gradient The gradient allows you to create a gradual blend between multiple colors, and create shading.

Layer mask The layer mask allows you to show or hide parts of images, which can be used to create interesting effects. When used with the gradient tool, you can also seamlessly blend images together.

Layer style Layer style creates a special effect within the layer it is applied to, such as shadows and embossing. It is especially striking when combined with text.

Brush Using the brush, you can paint patterns into images, which can be used to create eye-catching backgrounds.
