INFORMATION TECHNOLOGIES LABORATORY ParPNL research project

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGIES LABORATORY Machine Learning research project g1g1 0g2g Current joint project with Intel is related with construction of decision trees and decision rule systems for large data tables and with increasing of structural stability and accuracy of decision trees. As we know, our algorithms are used in Intel for analysis of manufacturing statistical data. First result in this direction was obtained in UNN in 1982 (the existence of decision trees with polynomial depth for some NP-hard problems with fixed dimension).

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGIES LABORATORY Intel Summer Schools 2002, 2003 Summer School 2002 – 34 of interns from the 13 universities of CIS –6 of interns take part in Intel’s research projects in Moscow and Saint-Petersburg –5 of interns hold a contract in IPP project in MSU Summer School 2003 – 40 of interns – young scientists and specialists from Russia

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGIES LABORATORY International seminar - practicum International seminar - practicum –duration - July, 10 – August, 20, 2003 –participants – ITLab interns, young specialists from Ukraine, Byelorussia, Georgia and Kirgizia –lectures by worldwide known scientists –joint research with leading Intel and UNN specialists –scientific and student seminars –participation in research projects

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGIES LABORATORY Modern directions in calculations Scientific seminar Collaboration between Intel, Russian Academy of Sciences, universities and industrial science 12 lectures of worldwide known specialists from Moscow, St.Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Kazan, working in areas of Intel interest, Lectures of leading Intel specialists in UNN

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGIES LABORATORY Enhanced Education Program courses 83 Intel employees participated 35 of them have successfully completed this program 15 lectures courses were given (5 of those have been newly developed, 5 have been essentially renewed) –Operational system UNIX –Algorithms development and analysis –Parallel computing –Digital signal processing –Digital communications –Programming with Matlab
