Instructions for making a video story *Pictures:

First think about the subject of your video story: o What is the story about? o Who is the main character in the story? o What other characters are there? o Where is the story located?

Think about what you want to say with your story Is your story: o Funny? o Sad? o Educational? How to bring out the message you want: o Showing examples o Pictures and drawings o Sounds, expressions and gestures

What material you need to search and where? What information? o Background information o Pictures From where and whom? o Library o Internet o Interviews

Write the structure of the story The beginning o How the story begins? o Who are the characters? Middle point o How the plot developes? The end o How the story ends? o Is it surprising?

Plan the shots you want to take One shot= one video clip o Usually 3-6 shots are needed o Length of the shot= p. Write down what happens in the different shots o You can also make a comic of the shot or the story Write down the characters’ lines

Think about what tools you need: Where the story will be filmed? o In school o Outdoors o At home What tools are needed? o Notes o Mobile phone/camera

Distribute the tasks in the group : Who will appear in the video? o What roles do they have? Who is the photographer? Who is the assistant? Are any other roles needed?

Film the different shots of the story Tips for making the video: 1.Check the lighting 2.Avoid background noise 3.Keep the device on a horizontal position 4.Take a few test shots 5.Film one shot several times

Download the videos to MoViE-platform Think about what videos to upload to MoViE- platform: o Which video clips are the best? o Which video clips are important for the story?

Create your own story in MoViE Which video clips you will use in the story ? Do you need to edit the video clips? In which order should the video clips be, so that the story continues logically?

Watching a video story together When your video story is ready, add it to the group’s site in MoViE When everyone’s video stories are ready, you can watch them together in the class You can also evaluate the video stories and comment them
