What is a relational database? “One or more tables of data that are organized and stored in a very structure way.”

Why use a database? Too much data for a spreadsheet. Have better data interfaces (both in and out). Searching for data: databases are more powerful. –We use queries.

Sample Database in MS Access. Fields, records, attributes. Tables, queries, forms, reports.

What is a query? A question; a selective search for data. How to make a new query using the Query Wizard

What is a form? An easy way to enter and view records. How to make a new form using the Form Wizard

What is a report? A way to view summarized data. How to make a new report using the Report Wizard
