The All-Russian Association of Disabled People (VOI) Founded in 1988

Goals of the VOI Representation and protection of rights of the disabled Achieving equal rights for disabled people Integration of disabled people to the society

The VOI connects About 2 million disabled people 81 regional organizations 2100 local organizations 24 300 primary organizations

Achievements of the VOI More than 70 federal laws have been taken under the influence and involvement of the VOI. They include the Federal Law on social protection of disabled people in the Russian Federation (1995).

The VOI has a consultative status at the UN Economic and Social Council. The VOI is a member of Disabled Peoples’ International and cooperates with other international and national organizations of disabled people.

The VOI has founded an association of disabled sportsmen to develop disabled people’s sport movement. The VOI has 1 nationwide and 19 regional periodicals and an editorial and publishing house ”Zdravtsvuy”.
